Katie Lam MP on Labour's Rape Gang inactivity: "Victims, survivors and the British public deserve better"

April 8th, 2025

Katie Lam MP has hit out at the Labour Party over their inactivity of the Rape Gang Inquiries.

Katie Lam posted to X: after her speech in the House of Commons today:

The Government rejected a national inquiry into rape gangs and promised five local ones instead.

Months later, we still know almost nothing about them.

Victims, survivors and the British public deserve better. They deserve justice.

Please be aware, some of this is graphic.

Liz Truss commented:

Shameful that even Labour's inadequate local inquiries into rape gangs are in question.

They are doing it to appease their voter base.

They don't care about the mainly white girls that were and are still being raped, tortured and abused.

Richard Tice commented:

Disgraceful betrayal by Labour of rape gang victims

Burying statement with no notice just prior to recess to empty Commons

Strong brave response by @Katie_Lam_MP

Labour have not heard last of this
