It has been alleged that one of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's closest aides, Powys MP Craig Williams, has had a bet with Ladbrokes concerning the election date.
The Gambling Commission is understood to have launched probe after Mr Williams, placed a bet with Ladbrokes on Sunday 19 May. Sunak announced the election date just days after the wager was placed. The amount of the bet is reported to be £100.
