Priti Patel has called on Labour to support our steel industry and safeguard 2,500 jobs in Scunthorpe.
Priti Patel is correct, in opposition Keir Starmer promised: "Only a Labour government can restore economic security and deliver clean power by 2030 with a decade of investment in green steel."

For years, Labour in Opposition promised to support the steel industry. It turned out to be yet another Labour lie, as reports emerge that 2,500 jobs in Scunthorpe could be lost by Christmas.
Steelworkers are the victims of another broken promise by this Government, but they're not the only ones. The entire nation is at risk without a national steel-making capacity. Starmer is handing the reins over our military and critical infrastructure to China.
The Government must act.
