Earlier today, May 30, 2025, a prison officer at HMP Long Lartin, a high-security prison in Worcestershire, UK, was stabbed by an inmate in what has been described as an "unprovoked attack."
The officer, a 25-year-old male, sustained serious injuries, including a stab wound to the stomach, and it is reported that he was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for treatment.
Reports suggest the weapon used was a flick-knife, allegedly delivered to the prison via drone, highlighting ongoing issues with drone-related contraband smuggling at the facility.
