The Metropolitan Police have issued an update to this story:
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of an incident in Dean Street, #Soho yesterday.
Initial indications suggest a mechanical fault may have caused the window of a black taxi cab to shatter.
The driver and passenger have been informed.

Reports are suggesting that Ian Hislop, the veteran editor of the weekly magazine Private Eye, was in a taxi when a bullet is thought to have hit the back window.
The drama happened at around 10am on Tuesday 1st October in Dean Street, Soho, London.
Both the tai driver and Mr Hislop are believed to be unhurt.
