The headteacher of Norwood Primary School in Eastleigh, Stephanie Mander, has responded to criticism following the earlier cancellation of this year's Easter Bonnet Parade and Easter Service.
Miss Mander has penned another letter to say: "To be clear, we are marking Easter in school and as with other religious festivals, children continue to learn about and celebrate Easter both educationally in our R.E. lessons and in our assemblies across the whole half term."
Miss Mander's letter also highlights that the school is working with the police due to "concerns regarding potential protest activity".

Dear Parents and Carers,
We are aware of the current attention on the school, following our letter about our Easter celebrations this year. I firstly want to thank those of you who have offered your many messages of support. These reflect our school's strong community spirit, of which I am exceptionally proud.
We are also aware of concerns regarding potential protest activity and want to assure you that we are working with the Police to monitor the situation very closely. All children are safe in school, and we have robust safeguarding processes in place which are followed at all times. To be clear, we are marking Easter in school and as with other religious festivals, children continue to learn about and celebrate Easter both educationally in our R.E. lessons and in our assemblies across the whole half term. Children will also continue to take part in much-enjoyed Easter craft activities as we approach the end of the term.
Finally, as a school, we have clear and well-established channels in place which enable parents to raise any questions or matters they may wish to discuss. We continue to encourage parents to use and engage with these processes as the most direct and constructive route to discuss and resolve any concerns or issues.
