Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson has said there "will have to be consequences" for parents who take their children on term-time holidays.
Ms Phillipson is committed to issuing fines to parents who fail to keep their children in school.
Parents have previously stated that is cheaper to be fined than pay the full price for holidays outside of term-time.
Local authorities are to raise the fine for taking children out of class without permission for five school days from £60 per child to £80 per child from August.
