Chris LaCivita, a well respected campaign adviser to US President-elect Donald Trump, has called Lord Peter Mandelson "an absolute moron".
The statement by Mr LaCivita follows the news that Peter Mandelson is to become the UK ambassador to the US.
Mr LaCivita posted to X:
This UK govt is special replace a professional universally respected Ambo with an absolute moron - he should stay home ! SAD! Mandelson described Trump as a danger to the world and ‘little short of a white nationalist’.
