August 30th, 2024

There are increasing reports that Jess Phillips has admitted to receiving "preferential hospital care" because she voted for a Gaza ceasefire.

In an evening at the Kiln Theatre billed as "An evening with Jess Phillips on a New Era for British Politics" Ms Phillips is reported to have said that she "got through to the front because of who I am. Also the doctor who saw me was Palestinian, as it turns out."

Reports suggest that Ms Phillips attended A&E at a Birmingham hospital after her lips had gone blue and she was finding it hard to breathe.

While in opposition, Jess Phillips resigned from Labour's front bench to vote in favour of a ceasefire in Gaza.
