During Prime Minister's Questions today Rachel Reeves, the UK Chancellor, appeared visibly upset, with some observers noting she seemed to be crying or very close to tears.
Keir Starmer failed to guarantee her position as Chancellor when pressed by Tory leader Kemi Badenoch, who called Reeves a "human shield" for Starmer's "incompetence."
A Treasury spokesperson attributed her tears to a "personal matter".
