Labour rebel @NadiaWhittomeMP tells Simon Marks that the welfare cuts could lead to deaths and won’t even fix the finances.

Here's what she had to say about the proposed welfare changes:
Similar cuts have already resulted in people dying. We've had four public health experts write in the British Medical Journal that they they think that these cuts will lead to more deaths. If somebody needed all of these things, help cutting up their food, help washing below the waist, help dressing their lower body, and supervision to go to the toilet, they would still lose their PIP. That person, by anybody's assessment, is clearly disabled, clearly will have additional costs associated with their disability. It's cruel.
Disability benefits are already too low. And I am not prepared to sacrifice the incomes and the well-being of my disabled constituents to balance the books. And by the way, it won't even balance the books because if growth is even, a fraction less than expected, the headroom will have gone, and we'll be back here in six months.
