I believe the decision not to compensate WASPI women was wrong.
I have written to the Secretary of State urging her to change her mind on the matter.
Here is my letter:
TERRY JERMY MP SOUTH WEST NORFOLK
Rt. Hon. Liz Kendall MP
HOUSE OF COMMONS
LONDON SW1A OAA
Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Department for Work and Pensions
Caxton House
Tothill St

Dear Liz,
RE: WASPI Compensation
I am writing to you following your statement on the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO) report on Women's State Pension Age which recommended compensation of between £1,000 and £2,950 to those affected from the pension rise in age for women born in the 1950s.
As a long-time supporter of Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI), both as a Councillor, in the general election campaign, and now as an MP, I urge you to reconsider the Government's decision not to award those affected any compensation, which goes against the independent PHSO recommendations.
I fully recognise the Conservatives left the economy in a state of disarray and broke our public services. Further, I agree we need to ensure fiscal stability, but the Labour Party has long been a supporter of the WASPI campaign, and I believe 3.8m WASPI women up and down the country deserve to be financially compensated as a result of the injustice that occurred.
Once again, I implore you to look at the decision again and reconsider to ensure that there is a fair solution for all.
Terry Jermy MP
Member of Parliament for South West Norfolk
