Labour "have let down Rape Gang victims once again"

April 8th, 2025

Robbie Moore, MP for Keighley & Ilkley has posted to X: that the Labour Party have broken their promises to rape gang victims.

Robbie Moore's post to X:

BREAKING: Today Labour have BROKEN their promises to rape gang victims.

Last week, we exposed the truth about Labour’s rape gangs strategy.

Now, on the last day before Parliament breaks up for Easter, Ministers were forced to come to Parliament and admit what we uncovered…

The £5 million funding originally pledged by the Home Secretary for FULL local inquiries is now being put into a “flexible” fund, which can be used on watered-down alternatives instead.

Labour is letting the very councils that failed victims decide whether they want to be investigated or not.

And the five local inquiries Labour said would be announced before Easter have been kicked into the long grass.

That is a complete and utter disgrace.

Today, I urged the Safeguarding Minister to face the reality that under Labour’s current strategy, grooming gang crisis-hit councils like Bradford will NEVER willingly accept an inquiry.

Statutory powers must be used.

I will now be meeting with the Minister to put this case forward
