Labour's Jess Phillips in online bust up with Reform's Richard Tice

August 6th, 2024

Labour's Jess Phillips has had an online spat with Reform's Richard Tice.

Richard Tice made a comment regarding a Sky News team being accosted in Birmingham. It included a video of the incident, which forced the Sky News team to abandon their broadcast.

Mr Tice Posted to X, formerly Twitter:

"Starmer & Labour no doubt think these pro Gaza masked folk are far right too? ….

All violence, rioting and assault is totally unacceptable

Two tier policing must stop"

Jess Phillips seemed to defend the protestors and replied:

"These people came to this location because it has been spread that racists were coming to attack them. This misinformation was spread entirely to create this content. Don't spread it MR Tice!"

Reform MP Lee Anderson has called on Ms Phillips to consider her position:

"Message to Jess.

As a Home Office Minister you should know that its the Polices job to protect our streets not a mob. That would be Mob Rule.

If you think the Mobs should police our streets then you must resign.

What are you waiting for?"
