Councillor Steve Edwards, who represents the Brockmoor and Pensnett ward in Dudley, has been kicked out of the Labour Party after his criticism of Labour Leader Keir Starmer.
Mr Edwards had been critical of Keir Starmer saying that he "lied to us all to get elected and does not deserve to be the leader of the Labour party".
Mr Edwards posted to Facebook:
After calling out Sir Keir Starmer for his attacks on the working class, for removing winter fuel allowance from pensioners, for refusing to support our children and for lying about not raising our taxes, The Labour Party has terminated my membership.
In a previous Facebook post Mr Edwards said:
Thank you to everyone in Brockmoor and Pensnett who held their nose and voted Labour yesterday in the by election. Unfortunatelywe came 3rd.
The over overriding message on the door step was anti Starmer and rightly so. Keir Starmer's attack on the working class, our children and parents/grandparents is unjustifiable.
Mr Edwards followed up with:
He lied to us all to get elected and does not deserve to be the leader of the Labour party.
