Labour's Tulip Siddiq allegedly breaks MP rules over her financial interests

July 21st, 2024

Breaking reports are suggesting that Tulip Siddiq has been reported to the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner for allegedly failing to declare income from a London rental property for more than a year.

All MPs are required to register interests within 28 days.

Tulip Siddiq had previously declared income from one rental property, but in March she also declared she co-owns a flat with her husband - which has been rented out since December 2022 for more than £10,000 a year.

Ms Siddiq is now the Economic Secretary to the Treasury.
