The Sunday Times and SKY News have revealed that Keir Starmer faces an investigation after failing to declare that Lord Alli, a Labour peer, provided high-end clothing for Lady Victoria Starmer.

The Sunday Times article led with: "The prime minister breached parliamentary rules by failing to declare that a multimillionaire businessman and party donor bought high-end clothes for his wife, Victoria.

"Sir Keir Starmer faces an investigation after neglecting to disclose that Lord Alli, a Labour peer, covered the cost of a personal shopper, clothes and alterations for Lady Starmer."

SKY News posted to X: "PM is under investigation for a possible breach of parliamentary rules after failing to declare that some of his wife's high-end clothes were bought for her by his biggest personal donor, Lord Alli."

Paul Brand suggested that these latest claims leave Mr Starmer open to claims of hypocrisy, especially as he was very vocal when criticising Boris Johnson for his rule-breaking.

Paul Brand posted on X: "This leaves Starmer open to claims of hypocrisy after he criticised other PMs - particularly Boris Johnson - for repeated rule-breaking.

"As an aside, I never really understand why politicians let people buy them clothes / wallpaper / holidays. It always ends in a total mess."
