New Foreign Secretary David Lammy might have cleared old Tweets calling Trump 'a racist KKK and Nazi sympathiser'

July 5th, 2024

Keir Starmer has appointed David Lammy Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.

In a post on X Number 10 has said:

The Rt Hon David Lammy MP has been appointed Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs

As David Lammy might be responsible for keeping the "special relationship" with the United States in good order, and with the possibility that Donald Trump may be the next President, it may have been prudent for him to delete old Tweets criticising Donald Trump.

The first Tweet said: "Re: Daily Mail story today. Yes, if Trump comes to the UK I will be out protesting on the streets. He is a racist KKK and Nazi sympathiser."

David Lammy's second Tweet re-enforced the first: "Yes I will be on the streets protesting racist and KKK/neo-Nazi sympathiser Trump. Let me know if you'll be with me."

These tweets were followed by an article in The Independent entitled: "Donald Trump is a 'racist KKK and Nazi sympathiser', says Labour MP"

The embedded Tweets are below. If they show "Not Found" going forward, then Mr Lammy has probably deleted them!
