Rhianon Passmore 'administratively suspended' from the Labour Party

Senedd member, Rhianon Passmore, who is the MS for Islwyn, has been 'administratively suspended' from the Labour Party pending an investigation into allegations made about her car's number plates.

A photograph of Rhianon Passmore’s car was published by the Guido Fawkes website appearing to show a number plate falling off, revealing another one beneath it!

A Welsh Labour spokesperson said that “The Labour Party takes the conduct of our elected representatives extremely seriously and all complaints are investigated in accordance with the Party’s complaints procedures.”

Ms Passmore was banned from driving by Newport magistrates in February 2018, after admitting failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

Update: On 27th June 2024 the BBC published an update to this story.

The BBC reported that police had found no offence in relation to the number plates on Ms Passmore's car.

It is understood that Labour has lifted its suspension of Ms Passmore.
