The BBC are reporting that prime minister Keir Starmer has scrapped a government helicopter contract, which is believed to be worth around £40m.
Rishi Sunak was criticised for his use of helicopters during his time in No 10.
The contract was set to be renewed, but is now being scrapped by Downing Street and the Ministry of Defence.
However, the former UK Secretary of State for Defence appears to dispute this version of events.
Rt. Hon Ben Wallace posted his thoughts to X earlier today, saying:
"Dishonesty from this new Government. I directed over a year ago that we would not renew the contract when it came up for renewal in Dec. Starmer trying to claim he has cancelled something that was never going to happen @larisamlbrown @bbcnews."
