Biography

Jordan Bardella is a French politician who serves as president of the National Rally (Rassemblement National) and as a Member of the European Parliament for France.

Born on 13 September 1995 in Drancy, in the north-eastern suburbs of Paris, Bardella joined the National Front, now National Rally, as a teenager and rose rapidly through the party. He was elected to the European Parliament in 2019 and led the National Rally list in the 2019 and 2024 European elections.

Bardella became acting president of National Rally in 2021 while Marine Le Pen concentrated on her presidential campaign, before being elected party president in 2022.

Following the 2024 European elections, Bardella became chair of the Patriots for Europe group in the European Parliament. He remains an MEP for France and sits on the Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs.

In September 2026, Bardella appeared at Reform UK's conference in Birmingham alongside Nigel Farage. The two leaders signed a memorandum of understanding setting out how Reform UK and National Rally say they would cooperate on illegal Channel migration if their parties entered government.
