Reform UK MP Lee Anderson has written to Home Secretary Yvette Cooper with concerns regarding X posts from the official Home Office Account.
Lee Anderson posted to X:
Innocent until proven guilty.
Well it appears not since Labour took charge.
Check this tweet from the Home Office sent out last week which in my opinion is disgraceful.
Then check out my letter to the Home Secretary.
We cannot allow the state to assume anyones guilt until they've had a fair trial.
They are not criminals until they've been found guilty.
Hopefully our Judges will see through this.

Dear The Rt Hon Yvette Cooper,
Re: Potential contempt of court
I am writing to raise my concern about a recent comment posted by the Home Office on X formerly Twitter, which was posted 15 August 2024.
Your department tweeted that more than 1000 arrests have been made related to recent public disorder and that these "criminals will face the full force of the law".
Could you provide answers to the following questions?
At best this is inappropriate and unprofessional. At worst this appears to be a possible contempt of court. I would like the reasons outlining to me if you do not agree with my concerns. Please assure me that we do not now have a two-tier justice system as well as two-tier policing.
Yours sincerely
Lee Anderson
