Rachel Reeves had better know that whatever moronic vandalism she does to the British tax code to punish people will be undone by a Reform government.
That should impact the forecast for what this property tax would raise.
If sellers know they can wait a few years and save paying the 24% tax on gains on their primary home, they will.
So they won’t sell, which means negligible money will be raised.
Let’s see if the OBR and Treasury are smart enough to work this out.
