Labour MP Kate Osborne has come under criticism from politicians and media figures following a Facebook post made after the fatal attack at Berlin Pride.

In her post, Ms Osborne referred to a number of recent events and organisations, writing:

"From Oradea formally banning the 2026 Pride March with homophobic rhetoric, to Reform here in the UK, to GB News... to the attack on Berlin Pride... We see these patterns emerging across Europe, an escalation of hate..."

She concluded by expressing her support for the LGBTQIA+ community and those affected by the attack in Berlin.

The post has prompted criticism from several public figures, who argued that the wording appeared to draw a connection between Reform UK, GB News and the wider circumstances surrounding the Berlin attack.

Reform UK MP Lee Anderson wrote on X:

"Look who they blame. Radical Islamists kill people all around the world and Labour MP points the finger at Reform UK and GB News. Language matters."

Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick also criticised the post, writing:

"Here is a Labour MP linking the appalling Berlin Pride attack on Reform UK. It's simply unhinged."

GB News presenter Alex Armstrong, whose broadcaster was also mentioned in Ms Osborne's post, described her comments as "dangerous" and said he would discuss them on his programme.

Ms Osborne's Facebook post does not explicitly state that Reform UK or GB News were responsible for the Berlin attack. However, critics said the way the organisations were referenced alongside the incident created that impression.

At the time of publication, Ms Osborne had not publicly responded to the criticism or clarified her comments.

The attack at Berlin Pride left one person dead and several others injured. Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
